Jean LaVena Razer  

of Harrison, Arkansas and formerly of Holiday Island, Arkansas passed away peacefully on November 26, 2024, at the age of 95.

Jean was born on June 27, 1929, in Glendale, California to Thomas and Vena (Carlson) Hamilton. She graduated from Fremont High School and the University of California, Los Angeles. Jean married Clarence L. Razer, Jr. on January 22, 1956, and they spent 67 happy years together.

Jean worked for 30 years at automotive dealerships in the Los Angeles/Hollywood area in California. She started as a receptionist/switch board operator, advancing to an Account Manager and finishing as a CEO/General Manager before retiring and moving to Holiday Island. In retirement, Jean was very active in the community serving as the treasurer for the Holiday Island Association of the Arts, Fire Auxiliary, and the Duplicate Bridge Club for 18 years. She was a beloved sister in the PEO Chapter A Arkansas and she sang for many years in the Holiday Island Singers. Jean was a charter member of the Holiday Island Presbyterian Church, served as an elder on session, was active in Presbyterian Women’s group, the church bridge club, the church choir, and chaired various social events. Jean loved baking and made so many cakes for special occasions, she became known as the ‘cake lady’ in the area. For many years she hosted the Knit Knackers group in her home knitting sweaters, hats and blankets donated to Grandma’s House in Berryville, Arkansas for children in need.

Jean is survived by her grandchildren James Razer (Sarah), Jake Razer (Jamie), Jessica Razer (Cory Johnson) all of Idaho and Daniel Razer of Nevada, and numerous longtime friends. She is preceded in death by her mother Vena (Carlson) Hamilton, father Thomas Hamilton, husband Clarence Razer Jr., sons Guy Razer and Daniel Razer.

Memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Holiday Island Presbyterian Church at 10:30 AM. Memorial donations may be made to PEO Chapter A Arkansas or Holiday Island Presbyterian Church. Online condolences may be sent to nelsonfuneral.com.
