Lance Florian Myers of Holiday Island, Arkansas was born December 19, 1938, in Goodland, Kansas and passed away March 2, 2022, at the age of 83 in Springdale, Arkansas. Lance was the son of Lawrence Dave Myers and Dorothy Arlene Shultz. He is survived by his wife, Rosalie of Holiday Island; sons: Sean F. Myers (Sandy Dunivan) of Ames, Iowa, Seth Myers (Shirley) of Lampasas, Texas; grandchildren: Phillip A. Myers, Jonathan M. Myers and Stephanie N. Myers; brother, David J. Myers (Susan); nieces: Kimberly Myers, Kirsten Tharp, Allison Myers-Arenth; nephew, Nathan Myers; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Larry Myers (Nola).

 His father’s occupation with the Navy, resulted in Lance attending 21 different schools during and after WWII. He graduated from North High School in Wichita, Kansas. He met his wife, Rosalie Garrison, in Wichita, Kansas. They were married July 10, 1960. He spent two years at the University of Wichita. He was employed by Cudahy Packing in Wichita, Kansas and Omaha, Nebraska as a computer programmer. In 1965 he began working for Northwestern Bell in Omaha, Nebraska as a Systems Analyst and was promoted to Data Processing District Manager. He managed more than 100 programmers and analysts. In 1984 he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA degree in Business Administration from Bellevue University. He retired from US West in 1991.

Lance was a member of the American Arbitrator Society specializing in computer related issues. He was a member and a chapter president of the West Omaha Kiwanis. He was president of the Omaha Mo River Rambler Club, a chapter of the Holiday Rambler RV Club. After moving to Holiday Island, Arkansas in 2005, he joined the Eureka Springs Preservation Society and served as treasurer. He was a trustee for the local Elk’s Lodge in Holiday Island. He volunteered for several years as an AARP Tax Preparer. For one year, he was the Tax Administrator for the Carroll County group. He was a member of Sons of the American Revolution.

The memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, at the Holiday Island Presbyterian Church in Holiday, Island, Arkansas. Graveside services will be held in Malvern, Iowa at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to Holiday Island Fire Department, Holiday Island Presbyterian Church, Wounded Warriors, Disabled Veterans, Tunnel to Towers, or the charity of your choice.
